Sorry, I must have missed that on my second editing pass. Then again, I was in a bit of a time crunch at the moment. I had to finish some homework and then get enough sleep to be quasi-functional today.angelfromanotherpin wrote:I am insulted, sir.Avoraciopoctules wrote:[ashdod player] (Ashdod)![]()
Ermor and Ashdod's files looked odd. The Ashdod one was entirely renamed and Ermor's ended in 1 rather than 0 (mid_ermor_1.2h rather than mid_ermor_0.2h).
Did it come in as 'mid_gath'? I'm pretty sure that's right, since Gath is the name of the Late Age version of the faction.
Here's a picture of your file juxtaposed with a typical one.

Actually no. Think less misogyny, more Eragon. And this gem:Kaelik wrote:Black Magician.name_here wrote:Which series is this?
Fucking parentheses.
Anyway, in addition to arbitrary plot syndrome, it's weirdly misogynistic most of the time.

Here's screenshots of both emails.

-------------------
I will assume the problem is hotmail itself. And setting up a dummy email with another service is probably too much work.
Given that your email doesn't seem to be working, maybe you could put the 2h file on a filesharing site? And/or put it in rar or zip format and see if that does anything?
Mediafire is pretty easy to use and the graphical design is less annoying to work with than a lot of other such sites in my experience.

Yes, Ashdod works now. But a new problem comes to light when I boot up the game.

Worrying, but I start a test game so I can catch any other problems. I click on their turn file to see what up:

Man doesn't seem to have an awake pretender or any scales. Or a named god. Maybe file corruption?
The "cheated" message suggests that leaving mods on may have changed the point cost for some pretender abilities.

I think I've got working files from everyone. Game started and I tried sending an email out to everyone with their trn files attached. Now I just have to actually find time to take my own turn tomorrow and hope switching to an entirely different pretender type on a whim and spending mere minutes on both concepting and creation doesn't end up shooting my nation in the foot.
One person's email sent a robo-reply indicating that they were "out of the office" for something like a week. Didn't look at it too closely, since I'm putting off looking through a chapter of one of my textbooks and don't want to cut it too close time-wise. And I still needed to get this and maybe another post written down before sleeping as well.

Your starting castle has an admin rating. One of th things this does is take a percentage of resources from surrounding provinces to the province with the castle in it. Therefore a starting site like (57) on our current map is very good, while a starting site like (5) is very bad. More adjacent provinces mean that your home province can field larger numbers of troops out of it.cthulhu wrote:Why is starting position less relevant as pangaea?
As Pangaea your capital only troops blow, so building a castle somewhere else isn't even a problem. But the real kicker is that Minotaurs and Centaurs really don't cost a lot of resources to begin with - the limiting factor is money. So acquiring a lot of adjacent provinces and hoarding resources is pointless.

Turn is in. I actually got a better starting position than I had in test games. Now if only my neighbors aren't on top of me...Though better isn't really great anyway. 3 adjacent provinces where I only got 2 in tests. This map seems to have lots of shitty starts.
